The only thing I'm concerned about is the possibility of constructing fake memories for ppl and s*** like that. Other than that, sign me up.

Edit: Oh and I still want my libido and my dick pls. Well not *my* dick cuz that's tiny, but a bigger bionic one thx

Some people are getting much too arrogant.
Why arrogant? Is it wrong to want to survive? And thrive. It's in our genetic code to do so, is it not?
I think it's arrogant because it could have adverse effects. Sure, some people may want to live longer, but i don't think this is the way to go about it.

Like which adverse affects? The population thing? I think Buubster brought up programing in false memories. I'm sure not EVERYONE could d of it, but what's so bad about people who, qualify for lack of sleep better term.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I don't think there'd be too many adverse affects really, nothing like divine wrath smiting us for defying nature or anything like that, we do it every day by curing diseases and such.

I think the negatives would only be if it doesn't totally work and you actually die then essentially get copied, the android race/species attempting to wipe out us filthy mortals or vice versa.

Since it would probably be really expensive unless millions of people had it done they'd probably be destroyed, since normal people would probably be afraid of what they consider soulless machine overlords.

As long as I didn't turn in to a Cyberman and I'd definitely be me, definitely.

Would much prefer an alternate immortality that let's me keep this body and regenerate though.
Though having a machine hand to crush stuff...

My Dear Melancholy,

This probably be for the rich or extremely lucky people. Good for them. If given the chance depending on where I am in life I'll do it(like if I had a kid and became ill)..

I'm assuming if this succeeds. There will be an option to do this before you die. Kinda like donating organs or pulling the plug.

I didn't have any in mind I was just thinking potentially, like with medicines and such

It would just be a robot imitating you. while you would be in the after life. but i think many people here believe you are your brain.
while i see the brain as a computer for the body, regulating organ functions. think of the ghost in the machine idea.

we are far from the ghost in the shell, where you can actually transfer your soul or "ghost" into a machine.
